- To rent a vehicle through our Car Hire services in Eastleigh, you must be at least 21 years old, though specific age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with additional fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Eastleigh office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally payable at the time of vehicle collection. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage, which must be reported immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document this. It is imperative to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level it had upon collection; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur additional charges, so please contact us if you anticipate returning the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, plus an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to limit your financial responsibility. Review these options thoroughly. Note that you will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except when additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges, so it's advisable to review your options carefully.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Prohibited activities include using the vehicle for illegal purposes or participating in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky endeavors. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting the vehicle, or permitting unauthorized drivers is also not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside designated geographical boundaries is strictly prohibited.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations in Eastleigh
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Eastleigh is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months.
